Watchword for the Week
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.
(Moravian Daily Texts 2017)
WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP
(Verses from Psalm 32)
Happy are those whose sins are forgiven,
whose wrongs are pardoned. Happy is the one
whom the LORD does not accuse of doing
wrong and who is free from all deceit.
When I did not confess my sins,
I was worn out from crying all day long.
My strength was completely drained, as
moisture is dried up by the summer heat.
Then I confessed my sins to you; I did not
conceal my wrongdoings. I decided to confess
them to you, and you forgave all my sins.
You are my hiding place;
you will save me from trouble.
I sing aloud of your salvation,
because you protect me.

PRAYER of APPROACH
Because God is good,
and has intended us to share his goodness,
we open ourselves to nothing less than
transformation as we say together:
Holy God, holy and mighty,
holy and immortal, have mercy on us.
You are the Word behind all words,
the calm at the core of the storm,
the energy that sustains creation.
You are present
in the pain behind the tears,
the laughter in the eyes,
the yearning in the heart.
All these you share,
yet your gift to us is much more.
So, open us up, Lord,
we whose lives are locked,
whose thoughts are well rehearsed,
whose prayer is predictable.
Open us up to depths we have not explored,
truths we have avoided,
paths we have not followed,
beauty we have yet to admire.
Open us up to Jesus,
in whom all things are held together for God
and for our good. Amen.
Hymn 259 v. 1+5 Beauty for brokenness!

WORDS of ASSURANCE
May God be gracious to us and bless us,
may God cause his face to shine on us.
May God’s purpose be known on earth;
God’s saving power among the nations.
Thanks be for God’s love and mercy. Amen.

English words at: Hymn 652, Second Form (b)
Bapa kami yang di sorga, Dikuduskanlah
nama-Mu, datanglah Kerajaan-Mu, jadilah
kehendak-Mu di bumi seperti di sorga.
Berikanlah kami pada hari ini makanan kami
yang secukupnya dan ampunilah kami akan
kesalahan kami, seperti kami juga
mengampuni orang yang bersalah kepada
kami; dan janganlah membawa kami ke
dalam pencobaan, tetapi lepaskanlah kami
dari pada yang jahat. Karena Engkaulah
yang empunya Kerajaan dan kuasa dan
kemuliaan sampai selama-lamanya. Amin.
The Lord be with you, and also with you.
Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give God thanks and praise.
It is right to praise you… with all who love Jesus
and honour his name we praise you, singing the
hymn of your everlasting glory:
