“If we have died with him, we shall also live with him.” (2 Timothy 2:11) (Moravian Daily Texts 2013)

ORGAN PRELUDE

WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP

(verses from Psalm 66)

Praise God with shouts of joy, all people!

Sing to the glory of his name; offer him glorious praise!

Say to God, “How wonderful are the things you do! Your power is so great that your enemies bow down in fear before you.

Everyone on earth worships you; they sing praises to you, they sing praises to your name.”

Come and see what God has done, his wonderful acts for humankind.

Praise our God, all nations; let your praise be heard.

Hymn 63 * All people that on earth do dwell

PRAYER of ADORATION and CONFESSION

Living God, we have come into your house to worship and adore you, in silence and in singing, in penitence and in prayer. Let us bless our God together:

Let the voice of his praise be heard.

Living Christ, we come to give thanks to you for moving among us with ears tuned to hear our deepest needs and hands stretched out to bless us and to heal us. Let us bless our God together:

Let the voice of his praise be heard.

Living Spirit, we come to worship you and thank you for breathing through our world the beauty of God’s presence, revealing the truth of God. Let us bless our God together:

Let the voice of his praise be heard.

Lord, forgive us for all the times when we have denied you or shrunk from showing that we are your disciples. Forgive us for wrangling over words and splitting hairs, especially when this has held people back from your Kingdom. Forgive us for our faithlessness.

Hear us, Lord, and forgive us in your mercy. Amen.

PRAYERS for OTHERS

Response: Have pity on us, Lord:

You alone can save us.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
