Watchword for the Week

Since we have a great high priest who has passed

through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us

hold fast to our confession. (Hebrews 4:14)

ORGAN PRELUDE

WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP

(Psalm 27)

The Lord is my light and my salvation,

whom then shall I fear?

The Lord is the strength of my life;

of whom then shall I be afraid?

One thing I have asked of the Lord,

that I will seek after:

To live in the house of the Lord

all the days of my life,

to behold the beauty of the Lord,

and to ask for his guidance.

I believe I shall see the goodness

of the Lord in the land of the living.

Trust in the Lord, have faith, be of

good courage. Trust in the Lord!

PRAYER of APPROACH and CONFESSION

O God of life, eternity cannot hold you,

nor can our little words catch the

magnificence of your kindness.

Yet in the space of our small hearts

and in the silence, you can

come close and repair us.

O God of life, grant us your forgiveness

for our careless thoughts,

for our thoughtless deeds,

for our empty speech, and the words

with which we have wounded.

O loving Christ, scatter the sin from

our souls as the mist from the hills;

start what we do, inform what we say,

redeem who we are. In you we place our

hope, our great and living hope, this day and

always. Amen.

ASSURANCE of FORGIVENESS

In the letter to the Hebrews are these words:

“Therefore let us approach God’s throne of

grace with confidence, where we will receive

mercy and find grace to help us in our time of

need.” So know that, whatever is going on in

your life, you can boldly turn to God, who offers

us grace and mercy over and over again.

Thanks be to God. Amen.

CHILDREN’S TIME

Chorus All things bright and beautiful

All things bright and beautiful,

all creatures great and small,

all things wise and wonderful,

the Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,

each little bird that sings,

he made their glowing colours,

he made their tiny wings.
