Watchword for the Week
Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the
voice of my supplications! (Psalm 130:2)
(Moravian Daily Texts 2015)
ORGAN PRELUDE
WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP
(Verses from Psalm 138)
I thank you, LORD, with all my heart;
I sing praise to you before the gods.
I face your holy Temple, bow down, and
praise your name because of your constant
love and faithfulness, because you
have shown that your name and your
commands are supreme.
You answered me when I called to you;
with your strength you strengthened me.
All the kings of the world will praise you, LORD,
because they have heard your promises.
They will sing about what you have done
and about your great glory.
Even though you are so high above,
you care for the lowly,
and the proud cannot hide from you.
You will do everything you have promised;
LORD, your love is eternal.
Complete the work you have begun.

PRAYER of APPROACH
Merciful God, Your love is greater
than anything we can understand;
your power is greater than we can imagine;
your forgiveness is beyond our comprehension.
The world is full of wonder:
too often we fail to see it.
We have been given the capacity to love:
too often we love only ourselves.
We believe and speak of you:
too often we forget you in our lives.
Forgive us for the unseeing times;
forgive us for the unloving times;
forgive us for the forgetful times.
(Silence)
Hear us as we pray:
Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open,
all desires known, and from whom no
secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of
our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy
Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and
worthily magnify your holy Name; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYERS for OTHERS
Heavenly Father: let your will be done.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the
glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
