Watchword for the Week

So let us not grow weary in doing what is right.

(Galatians 6:9)

(Moravian Daily Texts 2016)

ORGAN PRELUDE

WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP

(Based on verses from Psalm 30)

I praise you, LORD, because you have saved me.

I cried out to you for help, O LORD my God,

and you restored my life.

Sing praises to the LORD, all his faithful people!

Remember what the Holy One has done,

and give him thanks!

His anger lasts only a moment,

his goodness for a lifetime.

Tears may flow in the night,

but joy comes in the morning.

You have changed my sadness into a joyful

dance; you have taken away my sorrow

and surrounded me with joy.

I will therefore not be silent;

I will sing praise to you.

LORD, you are my God,

I will give you thanks for ever.

PRAYER of ADORATION and CONFESSION

God of good news,

your kingdom has come near to us, and so we

worship you.

You have shown us your love,

your glory, your compassion;

you have healed us, inspired us,

and called us your own.

We have such good news to proclaim –

Good news which has the power

to transform our world.

And yet so often we grow weary,

we stumble and fall,

we fail to believe in your promises,

we give up when times get tough.

Forgive us when we are fearful;

renew us when we are tired;

show us again where you would have us go.

In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

DEDICATION PRAYER

Lord Jesus Christ, we long to find in

ourselves a passion like yours for the Father

and a love like yours for humankind.

May your Spirit dwell within us,

and your compassion move in our hearts,

that the driving force of our being

may be the pure flame of your love.

We ask it in your name and for your sake.

PRAYERS for OTHERS

Response: Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to us:

O Lord, be our helper.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be

thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be

done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this

day our daily bread. And forgive us our

trespasses, as we forgive those who

trespass against us. And lead us not into

temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine

is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen.

COMMUNION PRAYER

The Lord be with you, and also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
