ORGAN PRELUDE
WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP
(Verses from Psalm 86)
You are my God, so be merciful to me;
I pray to you all day long.
Make your servant glad, O Lord,
because my prayers go up to you.
You are good to us and forgiving, full of
constant love for all who pray to you.
Listen, LORD, to my prayer; hear my cries
for help. I call to you in times of trouble,
because you answer my prayers.
There is no god like you, O Lord, not one
has done what you have done.
All the nations that you have created
will come and bow down to you;
they will praise your greatness.
You are mighty and do wonderful things;
you alone are God.
Hymn 160 * Praise, my soul, the king

PRAYER of APPROACH
Living God, we enter this time of worship,
feeling you calling and urging us
to be part of your family.
We stand with all people, gathered here in hope,
choosing to be a place where your generosity
and kindness dwell.
God, giver of life, we come into this place
as we are, and without any pretense. We take
this time to look at ourselves as we truly are.
We come with our imperfections, our failures,
and limited by our fears.
We come grieving our losses and struggling
with our incapacities.
Hymn 776 * Kyrie eleison (Lord, have mercy)
We come with our blind spots and inflexibility,
our angers, selfishness, and hidden agendas.
We come with our conflicts and sadness,
we come because we have been wrong
and have been wronged against.
Hymn 776 * Kyrie eleison (Lord, have mercy)
We come wanting to be vital and authentic
and seeking wisdom. We come longing for
comfort and restoration and
to encounter your love and grace.
Abide with us as we seek strength in our
weakness, healing from our failings and
forgiveness for our wrongdoings. Amen.
Hymn 619 + 620 * Spirit of the living God
WORDS of ASSURANCE
Hear these words of assurance from Father
Richard Rohr, SJ: “God is saving all of us, no
exceptions. We are all saved in spite of
ourselves, good and bad alike.” We can be sure
that there is no place and no circumstance that
will ever exclude us from the love of God.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
CHILDREN’S TIME
Including Hymn 137 *
All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful,
the Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings. (Refrain)

DEDICATION PRAYER (in unison)
All good gifts around us come from you,
O God. You give us the gift of life and new
life in Christ. In response to your gifts,
we offer our gifts to you. May we be gifts to
one another and respond to the needs of
your world. Amen.

The LORD’S PRAYER
(Please pray in your own preferred language / version.)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread; and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the
kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever
and ever. Amen.
