Watchword for the Week
Jesus says, “My grace is sufficient for you,
for power is made perfect in weakness.”
(2 Corinthians 12:9)
(Moravian Daily Texts 2015)
ORGAN PRELUDE
WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP
(Based on verses from Psalm 48)
Great is the LORD and highly to be praised,
in the city of our God, on the LORD’s holy
mountain. God is in the citadels of Jerusalem;
revealed to be the sure refuge of the city.
In the midst of your temple, O God,
we meditate on your steadfast love.
Your praise, like your name, O God, reaches to
the ends of the earth, your right hand is full of
righteousness. Mark this – God is our God
forever and ever, guiding us even to the end.
In the midst of your temple, O God,
we meditate on your steadfast love.

PRAYER of APPROACH
Each thing we have received:
from God it came.
Each thing we enjoy:
from God it comes.
Each thing we pray for:
from God it will be given.
God of life,
you are the source of all goodness
and the satisfaction of our desires.
Our understanding of you is small;
increase it.
Our desire to do your will is weak;
enliven it.
The seed you have planted has yet to bear fruit;
ripen it.
But first, create in us clean hearts as, in your
sight, we unburden ourselves of guilt … of anger
… of fear … of pride … of hardness of heart …
of weakness of intention.
(Silence)
Jesus, Son of Mary, have mercy upon us.
Jesus, Saviour of the World,
make peace within us.
Christ, King of Glory,
be with us and for us wherever life takes us.
WORDS of ASSURANCE
In the common path of our calling,
whether it be easy or uneasy to tread,
whether it be bright or dark to follow,
God, with perfect guidance, protects us:
as a shield against all that might deceive us,
a healer for all that might harm us,
a witness of all that might trouble us,
and a friend to all who are dear to us,
this day and until we meet again in glory. Amen.

DEDICATION PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, we long to find in
ourselves a passion like yours for the Father
and a love like yours for humankind. May
your Spirit dwell within us, and your
compassion move in our hearts, so that the
driving force of our being may be the pure
flame of your love. We ask it in your name
and for your sake. Amen.
NOTICES and PRAYERS for OTHERS
Response: Give us your grace:
to hear your word with joy.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the
glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
