Watchword for the Week

Jesus said, “You will see the Son of Man seated at

the right hand of the Power, and coming with the

clouds of heaven.” (Mark 14:62)

(Moravian Daily Texts 2015)

ORGAN PRELUDE

WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP

(Verses from Psalm 118)

Give thanks to the LORD, because he is good,

and his love is eternal. Let the people of Israel

say, “His love is eternal.” Let the priests of

God say, “His love is eternal.” Let all who

worship him say, “His love is eternal.”

Open to me the gates of the Temple;

I will go in and give thanks to the LORD!

This is the gate of the LORD;

only the righteous can come in.

ECC Choir Come, Lord Jesus

I praise you, LORD, because you heard me,

because you have given me victory. The stone

which the builders rejected as worthless

turned out to be the most important of all.

May God bless the one who comes in the name

of the LORD! The LORD is God; he is good to us.

With branches in your hands, start the

festival and march round the altar.

ECC Choir Come, Lord Jesus

You are my God, and I give you thanks;

I will proclaim your greatness.

Give thanks to the LORD, because he is good,

and his love is eternal.

Hymn 364 * All glory, laud, and honour

LITANY of APPROACH

Hosanna, save us.

From what do you desire to be saved?

Save us from our indifference to the poor

and others we exclude in our community.

You are a forgiven people;

open your hearts to all in need.

Hosanna, save us.

From what do you desire to be saved?

Save us from our disregard for the earth

and our exploitation of creation.

You are a forgiven people;

open your hearts to nurture the world.

Hosanna, save us.

From what do you desire to be saved?

Save us from our overindulgences.

You are a forgiven people; open your hearts

to the satisfaction that is found in knowing

you are a child of a loving God.

Hosanna, save us.

From what do you desire to be saved?

Save us from our lack of desire for

knowledge. You are a forgiven people;

open your hearts to rejoice in enquiry.

Hosanna, save us.

From what do you desire to be saved?

Save us from our timidity and lack of

courage. You are a forgiven people;

open your hearts to the embracing

goodness of God that is with you always.

Hosanna, save us.

From what do you desire to be saved?

Save us from our lack of understanding.

You are a forgiven people; open your hearts to

the wonders of the journey in the eternal flow

that is the God of love. Let it be so. Amen.

NOTICES and PRAYERS for OTHERS

Lord, in your mercy: hear our prayer.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be

thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be

done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this

day our daily bread. And forgive us our

trespasses, as we forgive those who

trespass against us. And lead us not into

temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power,

and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
