ORGAN PRELUDE
WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP
(verses from Psalm 106)
Give thanks to the LORD, because he is good. Praise the LORD! His love is eternal.
Who can tell all the great things he has done? Who can praise him enough?
Happy are those who obey his commands. Happy are those who always do what is right.
Remember me, LORD, when you help your people; include me when you save them.
Let me see the prosperity of your people: May I share the joy of those who belong to you.
Give thanks to the LORD, because he is good. Praise the LORD! His love is eternal.
Hymn 157 * Sing of the Lord’s goodness

PRAYER of APPROACH
We rejoice, O God, our King, that you invite us, your Kingdom people, to celebrate with you and, through our lives, to play our part in establishing your reign of justice, love, and peace. We rejoice that you extend an open invitation to your Kingdom banquet, calling saint and sinner, good and bad alike, to come into your presence; to follow your guiding and to live in your way. And so it is we come at your inviting, bringing with us the worries of our days; our concerns for those we love; the burdens of our wrongdoings.
God, to whom alone we owe allegiance, we have not loved you as you deserve or served our neighbours as you have commanded.
In mind and heart we have been impure. In word and deed we have been unkind.
In negligence and ignorance we have failed to act with righteousness and to work for peace and justice.
Forgive our sins and so fill our thoughts with what is true and honourable, just and pure, pleasing and commendable, excellent and praiseworthy, that our words and actions may be worthy of our calling, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Hymn 493 * It’s me, it’s me, O Lord

PRAYERS for OTHERS (Hymn 805 *)
Your kingdom come:
Your will be done on earth, O Lord. ♫
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
