PRAYER of APPROACH

God of grace and truth,

we give thanks for life in all its fullness.

Not an easy life,

but a life full of support and encouragement

to confront difficulties and challenges.

Hymn 767 Hallelujah, hallelujah

Not a pain-free life,

but a life full of love and care

to comfort in suffering.

♫ Hallelujah, hallelujah…

Not a life of luxury,

but a life with enough

for freedom from fear.

♫ Hallelujah, hallelujah…

Not a life of possession,

but a life full of wonder

to delight in each day.

♫ Hallelujah, hallelujah…

Not a driven life,

but a life freely-given

and free to receive.

♫ Hallelujah, hallelujah…

Not a life without meaning,

but a life of being needed

and not taken for granted.

♫ Hallelujah, hallelujah…

Not a quiet life,

but a life full of passion

for justice and joy.

♫ Hallelujah, hallelujah…

For fullness of life, we give thanks, O God,

and as we pray for ourselves,

we pray for all people, made in your image

to know life in all its fullness. Amen.

WORDS of AFFIRMATION

This, then, is the good news: We share in the

promises God made to all people. God who

gave us life gives us new life that we may live

out his love. Thanks be to God. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be

thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be

done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
