ORGAN PRELUDE

WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP

We come to worship the invisible God,

made visible in our world by Jesus.

We come to worship God,

present in our world and in our lives.

We come to worship the God

who made us and loves us, always.

We come to worship God,

present in our world and in our lives.

We come to worship the God

who calls us sometimes to do,

and other times to sit and listen.

We come to worship God,

present in our world and in our lives.

Come, friends, and let us worship God.

PRAYER of ADORATION and CONFESSION

Help us to be faithful listeners.

Help us to be faithful servants.

In all that we do, may we welcome you

and serve you as disciples.

Sometimes we get flustered and overwhelmed.

We think we have far too much to do, and we

don’t know which way to turn.

Sometimes when that happens, we lash out:

we blame others for our problems; we think

“if only they would act differently, we would

be fine.” But we know that is not true.

At those times, O God,

forgive us … quiet us … centre us ...

Help us, O God, to recognize when we take

on too much. Help us to let go, that in letting

go we might in turn find ourselves better

able to serve you and others. Amen.

ASSURANCE of FORGIVENESS

Despite all we have done in our lives, God never

gives up on us. Jesus is patient with us, always

loving and forgiving. So let us turn our lives back

to God, and know forgiveness and grace.

Thanks be to God! Amen!

DEDICATION PRAYER

Lord Jesus, we are yours;

we acknowledge your authority,

and dedicate our lives to you.

Teach us, like Martha,

to be busy in your service,

and, like Mary,

to sit at your feet and listen to your voice,

that our whole being may be offered to you.

We ask it for your sake. Amen.

NOTICES and PRAYERS for OTHERS

Response: God of love:

We put our trust in you.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be

thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be

done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this

day our daily bread. And forgive us our

trespasses, as we forgive those who

trespass against us. And lead us not into

temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine

is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen.
