Watchword for the Week

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;

his understanding is beyond measure.

(Psalm 147:5)

(Moravian Daily Texts 2018)

ORGAN PRELUDE

WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP

(Verses from Psalm 147 – New International Version)

How good it is to sing praises to our God,

how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving;

make music to our God on the harp.

He determines the number of the stars

and calls them each by name.

Great is our Lord and mighty in power;

his understanding has no limit.

He heals the broken-hearted

and binds up their wounds.

The LORD sustains the humble

but casts the wicked to the ground.

He supplies the earth with rain

and makes the grass grow on the hills.

He provides food for the cattle

and for the young ravens when they call.

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,

nor his delight in the legs of a man;

the LORD delights in those who fear him,

who put their hop in his unfailing love.

PRAYER of APPROACH

When the voice of God sounds…

When the voice of God speaks….

…among people who have new possibilities.

Everlasting God,

you give strength to the powerless

and power to the faint;

you raise up the sick

and cast out demons.

Make us agents of healing and wholeness,

that your good news may be made known

to the ends of your creation. Amen.

Hymn Those who wait on the Lord

Those who wait on the Lord

shall renew their strength,

they shall rise up on wings as eagles,

they shall run and not be weary,

they shall walk and not faint:

help us Lord, help us Lord in your way.

Those who serve the suffering world…

Those who live the risen life…

Those who love the Mystery…

Those who die on the march…
