WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP

(Verses from Psalm 27)

The LORD is my light and my salvation –

whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life –

of whom shall I be afraid?

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:

that I may dwell in the house of the LORD

all the days of my life;

that I may gaze upon the beauty of

the LORD and seek him in his temple.

At his tabernacle

I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;

I will sing and make music to the LORD.

Hear my voice when I call, O LORD;

be merciful to me and answer me.

Do not hide your face from me,

do not turn your servant away in anger;

you have been my helper.

OPENING PRAYER

O God of majesty, we adore you,

for you have made known to us the mystery of

the ages, you have revealed to us your love in

Christ, your Spirit is leading us into all truth.

We praise you, O God; we adore you:

We will sing our love and joy.

O God of splendour, we adore you,

for you have called us to speak of your wonders,

and you are uniting us as the body of your Son,

so that we can witness to your grace

before earth and heaven.

We praise you, O God; we adore you:

We will sing our love and joy.

O God of glory, we adore you,

for you have made us heirs of your promise.

Through your Son, we can enter your holy

presence, and we proclaim a realm of peace

where all people belong.

We praise you, O God; we adore you:

We will sing our love and joy.

Hymn 83 *3 It is faithful to Israel’s law

Forgive us, God of grace,

that though you have called us into unity,

we have continued our divisions, strengthened

our distrust, reinforced attitudes of separation,

and passed on our prejudices to others.

Call us again in mercy, that we may be one in

compassion, service and praise, and so

witness to your love, your grace, your glory.

Hymn 83 *4-5 For the peace of all nations

NOTICES and PRAYERS for OTHERS

We are your people: Make us one in you.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be

thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be

done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this

day our daily bread. And forgive us our

trespasses, as we forgive those who

trespass against us. And lead us not into

temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine

is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen.
