OPENING PRAYER
God of the universe, Lord of eternity, you speak
in signs and visions, whispers in the silence, the
promptings of conscience, the joy of the heart:
We praise you.
God of all people, Lord of humanity, you
approach us in the dramas of history, the detail
of our every day hopes for our families and
friends, the peace of communion:
We praise you.
God of all ages, Lord of the church, you renew
us through the resurrection of Jesus, the life of
the Spirit, through dreams of justice and freed,
through the power of prayer:
We praise you.
Yet life has its everyday fears and worries that
hinder us from living fully the life of grace you
wish us to live. We confess before you now our
anxieties and insufficiencies. We are afraid.
Lord Jesus, help us to see you when we are
afraid. Help us to hear your voice calling us
when our faith is weak. Help us to feel the
strength of your arms supporting and lifting
us when we are sinking. Lord Jesus, give us
your peace and let us walk with you. Amen.
