ORGAN PRELUDE

WELCOME and CALL to WORSHIP

(Verses from Psalm 68 – New Living Translation)

Let the godly rejoice.

Let them be glad in God’s presence.

Let them be filled with joy.

Sing praises to God and to his name!

Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds.

His name is the LORD

rejoice in his presence!

Father to the fatherless, defender of widows –

this is God, whose dwelling is holy.

God places the lonely in families;

he sets the prisoners free

and gives them joy.

Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth.

Sing praises to the LORD. Sing to the one

who rides across the ancient heavens,

his mighty voice thundering from the sky.

Tell everyone about God’s power.

His majesty shines down on Israel;

his strength is mighty in the heavens.

God is awesome in his sanctuary.

The God of Israel gives

power and strength to his people.

PRAYER of APPROACH

As we worship together, O God,

may we live together.

As we live together, O God,

may we witness together.

As we witness together, O God,

may we journey together.

As we journey together, O God,

may we meet together.

As we meet together, O God,

may we worship together.

And may our worship be in you, O God,

as you are in us.

Hymn 522 v. 1+2* The Church is wherever…

Holy God, your Son our Saviour prayed

for his disciples that they might be one, as you

and he are one. Make us one, we pray.

We confess our divisions and dissensions

and the disunity we have created

within the Body of Christ.

We have not loved one another

as Christ has loved us.

We have failed to put past wrongs behind us

or seek reconciliation and healing.

Forgive our sinful thoughts and actions;

help us to start anew; and sanctify us in the truth

of your living Word, our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Amen.

WORDS of ASSURANCE

Here are words you may trust, words that merit

full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the

world to save sinners. To all who confess their

sins and resolve to lead a new life he says: Your

sins are forgiven, and he also says: Follow me.

Thanks be to God. Amen.

Onze Vader, die in de hemelen zijt,

geheiligd zij uw naam, uw rijk kome. Uw wil

geschiede, op aarde als in de hemel. Geef

Amen.
